Marbert Rocel – Small Hours (Jacob Korn Remix) || Compost Black Label 88 12″ Vinyl Germany, 2012 Review: Deep house in all his variety, from being airy, fluffy, substantial, pushy or cracking to the elegance of indie pop, all in here: bodacious and groovy remixes by Daniel Stefanik, Osunlade, Jacob Korn or Klinke Auf Cinch. Marbert Rocel, the East German indie pop’n’jazz sensation and live band just brought their third album “Small Hours” to life, capturing a deep sense for beats, smoking, songs, indie pop trips including leftfield house- and jazzy affairs. (J.M.F) Jacob Mikesh Filburt – Philipp Dolphia || Permanent Vacation 95 Vinyl, 12″ Country: Germany Released: 15 Jun 2012 Review: J.M.F is a joint venture consisting of Dresdens Jacob Korn and Leipzigs Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt with both of them throwing in their special secret powers: the analog house feeling and the big bass drum from Jacob and the great melodies and a certain fluffiness from Mikesh and Filburt. Together they howled with the coyotes deep down in the notorious uncanny valley and created two sparkling tracks Philip Dolphia…read more

Kresy – Lords Of Percussion (Jacob Korn Remix) || Hivern Discs ‎– HVN011 Vinyl, 12″ Country: Spain Released: 17 Jan 2012 Review: Hailing from Asturias, Spain, Kresy (Alejandro Rodríguez) fits right in on Barcelona’s Hivern Disc label. On the darkly dramatic title track of his debut EP, his way of looping and layering vocals is in keeping with the styles of his colleagues John Talabot and Pional, though his drums have a heavier, more techno-like energy; Carl Craig’s influence looms even larger in the track’s buzzing leads and generally epic scope…read more
