My Juno journey started with Cuthead‘s old Alpha Juno some years ago. Next one was a Juno-6 that I equipped with MIDI and a chorus input to use as an FX unit (as I did on most of my other synths as well). I always wanted to try a Juno-106, so I got this MKS-7 rack that I refurbished (four dead voices). I traded the unit for a 106 with one dead voice, as I had already got a Roland 707 by that time. After fixing the problems, I placed a chorus input and…read more

Duration 6h for Mods: 300€ + parts (knobs+housing) + postage (german clients + 19% tax) Stereoping pointed out some interesting mods for this VCR-looking analog drum beast. Since I like the idea of saving kits i focussed on parameters like tune and decay for real-time control. Triggering those 5 voices by my modded TR-606 with multiple outputs. Great fun! RENT GEAR HERE: Thx for the nice documentation! http://www.stereoping.com/pearl-drx-1-drumsynth/?lang=en The Pearl DRX-1 has 5 Instruments which can be triggered by drum pads. Of course, you can also feed some trigger signals into…read more
Got this earlier version of the RE-201 in a very bad shape. After a lot of hours, it´s alive again. Replaced all pots and connections, recapped the power supply and adjusted the tape transport that caused a lot of issues. thx to Jacob Stoy who borrowed his RE-200 for troubleshooting. check out the „sound on sound“ mod! quite noisy but fun unit!!! https://youtu.be/VJ9MP76cpNM
Duration 10h for Mods: 600€ +Parts and postage (german clients +19%) https://youtu.be/oc9i99rsAnA Spring 2020 new full length video! Completely reverted the previous work. NOW it feels like my very own 909. Notice that signatures from Jeff Mills and Juan Atkins that i was lucky enough to meet during gigs. So the final list of modifications is almost endless since the great nava extra 9 project and Robin Whittle documented a lot of other stuff that i needed to try out. I was actually ok with it now to not being able to switch…read more
Got this baby in very bad nonworking condition. Had to replace the processor board (battery leakage) with a cloned version and to source 12 new SSM chips. It got also MIDI plus an input for using the internal chorus FX now. After cleaning its looking brand new. A nice 5k pot replacing R116 near IC31 will increase the unison detune! http://synthhacker.blogspot.de/2013/04/polysix-adding-detune.html Thx so much to Curetronic.com and Malte Rogacki for helping with the reanimation:)
This 80ies east german keyboard features a true 3 line BBD chorus section by the likes of solina and logan plus a 3 band eq that is accessible now via jack. Look for Mod 1-3 in section ST2. Thanks to vermona and Lutz Würker for sending the schematics. Time: 30min.
